About Us

That's us. Me and the hubs - up ^ there ^ in the picture. George on the left (isn't he handsome?). Me (Jay) on the right.

Our Family:
Our relationship started in a whirlwind way. There's just no other way to say that.  Technically we met at a church youth function when I was in middle school - he lived in GA & I lived in a tiny town in AL. We didn't speak to each other until we both wound up at the same christian youth camp the summer after my senior year of high school. That was in July. By September, we were engaged & I had moved to GA from AL. We were married that following January. I mean... what can I say? If you were doing the math on that, you might have picked up on the whole Summer after high school thing - yep, I was 18, he was 21. It was the craziest and best decision I have ever made. Crazy to think that was 10 years ago! In the last 10 years we have had 2 biological children and 3 children born in our hearts and adopted into our family. They are 9, 5, 4, 3, & 2. Yep - fun times!! Did I mention the 5, 4, 3, & 2 year olds are boys? ha!! That's them over there in the side bar (pictures listed by age).

George:
What can I say about George? He's the one God made for me. No doubt about it. He's the youngest of 2 boys (10 years apart). He's handsome. He's smart. He's funny. He loves one line jokes, seer sucker pants, & all things running/biking/swimming. He's a 5 time marathon finisher --- so that will tell you that he's goal oriented. commited. persistent. He runs 3 restaurants like a well-oiled machine & he never does anything halfway. But even more than all of those things - he loves our children with boundless love. No question about it - he's the best Dad I know. Which only makes me love him more.

Me:
I'll make this quick - I'm not a writer (maybe you can tell?) - I'm a wife, a momma, a photographer, a best friend, a sister, a daughter & I know that all of those things are gifts from the Lord. I'm one of 7 preacher's kids. 5 of us were adopted (3 domestically, 2 internationally from Thailand)  - and I'm the youngest of them all.  I'm definitely not a great house-keeper, a great cook, or an avid exercise fan. I love going to the movies, listening good music, an excellent book & I could eat my weight in a good creme' brulee. My friends say that I cry too easily & all the spiritual gift tests that I've taken say that hospitality is my spiritual gift... which I don't get at all (refer to sentence about housekeeping & cooking). Honestly, I try to be an open book - I know from experience that life is much too short to be anything else.
